Two different TUBITAK 2209-A Project Successes from our department

Computer Engineering students Ahmet Hakan Yıldız, Ali Unay and Ahmet Ozan Yıldırım's project titled 'Space Information Platform' was awarded support within the scope of TUBITAK 2209-A. The project advisor will be  Asst. Prof. İbrahim Rıza HALLAÇ from the Department of Computer Engineering.

Within the scope of the project, a recommendation system that recommends places will be developed with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Deep Learning methods. In the first phase of the project, a mobile application will be designed for tourists coming to Alanya, the tourism center, offering up-to-date recommendations about the city's places. In order to produce personalized recommendations according to the interests of the users, factors such as the demographic distribution of the visitor audience in the venues, age and gender will be analyzed with artificial intelligence methods. As a result of these analyzes, it is aimed to provide users with the most appropriate venue recommendations in line with their interests and preferences.

In another project, Computer Engineering senior students Ahmet Sezer Akdeniz, Berkan Özgür and Emre Şahin's project titled 'AkI-67: Mobile Application for Ki-67 Prediction' was awarded support under TUBITAK 2209-A. Within the scope of the project, pathological images will be processed with computer vision techniques and the growth rate of cancer cells will be estimated. The project, which will be advised by Asst. Prof. Özge Öztimur Karadağ from the Department of Computer Engineering and Asst. Prof. Özlem Ceren Günizi from the Department of Medical Pathology, aims to develop a decision support system suitable for the use of pathologists.

Our Dean Prof. Erhan CENGİZ accepted the project teams in his office. Stating that the success news of our faculty continues to increase, our Dean congratulated our valuable professors and students and wished them continued success.
