One of our department’s students wins first place at the SİPER-İZ Hackathon

With the support of the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sport and Süleyman Demirel University, our students brought us great pride at the ‘SİPER-İZ (Sustainable Climate Project and Ecosystem Competition) Hackathon’ held between 25 and 27 April. In this event themed around sustainable energy and climate, our ‘YTT QUANTA’ team—comprising Mehmet Ağcakaya and Ahmet Sühan Ergüner, who represented our university under the Innovative Technologies Society (YTT)—won first prize following the jury’s evaluation, whilst whilst our ‘YTT TİMUR’ team finished the challenging competition in fourth place.

Prof. Dr Erhan Cengiz, Dean of the Rafet Kayış Faculty of Engineering at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), and Prof. Dr Alper Kürşat Uysal, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, congratulated our teams for translating their theoretical knowledge into practice to produce innovative solutions to global environmental issues. We congratulate our students, who successfully reflected our department’s application-oriented educational vision in the field and achieved this ranking through tireless work day and night; we hope this success will inspire all students who wish to generate ideas, form teams and participate in competitions.
