SUPPORT TO ÇAK MOBILE APP FROM RECTOR KALAN
Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Kalan accepted the academician who developed the ÇAK mobile application to his office.
The ÇAK mobile application developed by Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) Computer Engineering academic staff and students was supported by ALKU Rector Prof. Dr. Support came from Ekrem Kalan. ALKU Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Kalan accepted Gürkan Çelik, a Computer Engineering lecturer at Rafet Kayış Engineering Faculty, to his office and received information about the progress of the ÇAK application. During the visit, Çelik noted that the ÇAK application, which was developed with the contributions of ALKU and the support of KOSGEB, was met with interest in Alanya in a short time. Thanking Rector Kalan for their support, Çelik said, "With the ÇAK application, we aim to prevent waste in Alanya and also enable users to buy discounted products at more affordable prices from the market. We aim to spread the ÇAK application throughout Turkey.” said.
ÇAK IS ACCEPTED IN ALANYA
Rector Kalan, who stated that the social responsibility aspect of the ÇAK implementation was supported by ALKU, underlined that it is pleasing that a project that benefits the society is coming from ALKU. Rector Kalan, according to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) 2021 report, is among the countries where food waste is experienced the most in Turkey. In Turkey, it is stated that 18.1 million tons of food is wasted every year in the research conducted in 2020. According to the report; In Turkey, 4.9 million breads are wasted daily. The highest loss is experienced in fruits and vegetables with 50 percent. This has an economic cost to both our pocket and our country. One aspect of the CAK implementation aims to prevent this.” he said. Kalan congratulated the academicians and students of ALKU who developed the project and made it progress, and wished them success in their studies.
