TUBITAK 3501 - Career Development Program: Takdik-Rob: Humanoid Robot Project Trained by Imitation

Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Öztimur Karadağ, a member of our Computer Engineering Department, has received TUBITAK 3501 support for her project named "Takdik-Rob". The project aims to train humanoid robots to recognize human movements and respond appropriately to these movements, using a learning model based on imitation.

Researchers from Atatürk University and Middle East Technical University, in addition to Our Department, will also be involved in the project. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış Özyer and Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Tümüklü Özyer from Atatürk University will conduct research in the project, with guidance planned under Prof. Dr. Fatoş Yarman Vural and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erol Şahin from METU.

Lecturer Emre Çintaş, research assistant Uğur Kılıç, our research assistant Ali Çoban, and our undergraduate students Serhat Ulaş Sarı and Halil İbrahim Taşkömür will participate in the research within the scope of the project.

The project aims to enable humanoid robots to acquire the ability to perform specific tasks by imitating human movements. This process will contribute to robots interacting with humans in a more natural and effective way.

Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Erhan CENGİZ, congratulated Asst. Prof. Dr. Özge Öztimur Karadağ and and our team, wishing them continued success.
