History:
Our department started its undergraduate education in the 2016-2017 academic year. Starting from the 2018-2019 Academic Year, our department accepts new students to the undergraduate program to teach in English.
Aim:
With the Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program, which is an up-to-date, contemporary and student-oriented undergraduate program, our department aims to train engineers who can think analytically and systematically, who have a good command of basic engineering concepts, who are innovative in their field, who can quickly keep up with new technologies and who have strong social aspects.
Undergraduate Program:
The language of instruction is English. Students with English proficiency directly start the undergraduate program, students who do not have English proficiency start the undergraduate program after completing a one-year preparatory education.
Our undergraduate program is 4 academic years or 8 semesters. As of the first two years of the undergraduate program, mainly engineering orientation, basic engineering and basic computer engineering courses are given. The next two academic years are focused on computer engineering courses. While it is aimed to provide students with both theoretical and practical dominance in the field with the compulsory field courses from the said courses, it is aimed to enable them to focus on the fields they are interested in and want to work in a wide spectrum with the compulsory technical elective field courses.
Our undergraduate program is also designed to enable our students to develop and continue their activities in different fields of interest with non-field elective courses for humanities and social sciences.
In addition, our program also includes compulsory courses in areas such as Engineering Ethics, Occupational Health and Safety, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which are focused on some humanities and social sciences and are expected to be equipped with today's engineers.
Students who successfully complete our four-year undergraduate program are entitled to receive a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and the title of Computer Engineer.
Students who graduate from the program will be able to continue their master's and doctoral programs and pursue an academic career, as well as work in all positions in the market that require computer engineering and information technology infrastructure. In this context, graduates are employed in many current information technology positions such as hardware design and production, software design and production, database design and programming, system analysis, network engineering, network programming, computer games design and programming, mobile application design and programming, data mining and so on. they can take charge. There is a serious demand for these positions in the market. The most concrete indication of this is that almost all companies have an IT department and computer engineers work intensively in these departments. In addition, when companies in all emerging sectors in our country and in the world are examined, it is striking that a significant part of them are information technology-oriented companies. In the last 20 years, companies working on information technologies stand out among the companies that create the largest employment and income at home and abroad.
