New Applied Training from ALKU NEXUS: Linux Bootcamp

The ALKU NEXUS Software Development and Project Community continues its hands-on training series without slowing down. Having previously successfully delivered Git & GitHub and Docker training, the community is now focusing on the Linux Operating System, a crucial component of software and system development. NEXUS is organizing the "Linux Applied Bootcamp" event, which aims to provide students with a solid introduction to this widely used operating system.

Event Details and Content
• Date: November 27, 2025
• Location: Rafet Kayış Faculty of Engineering Computer Laboratory, Lab 408

The training, designed using a peer-to-peer learning model, will provide participants with hands-on experience of the Linux operating system's applications and its key advantages and disadvantages. Topics Covered in the Training:
• Using the Terminal (Command Line)
• File and directory management, file permissions
• Package management (software installation/uninstallation)
• Establishing an SSH connection and transferring files between devices

Bootcamp Outcomes
At the end of this training, students will have acquired important skills such as working comfortably in the command line environment, managing file systems, and performing basic network operations. The NEXUS Community welcomes all our students to this hands-on training that will enhance their engineering practice!
